LIVE ALBUM RECORDING WEDNESDAY MAY 3, 2006 - 9:30PM TO MIDNIGHT MOMO'S (618 W 6TH ST) Austin, TX WARNING: Somewhere in the landscape of the Austin music scene a Band of Heathens is running amok. These men are seeking new recruits for a celebration of musical madness and mayhem at Momo’s on May 3. This isn’t just another of the band’s regular Wednesday night ensemble performances — instead, the festivities will be recorded for a live album to be released by Austin’s own Fat Caddy Records later this year.

The Band of Heathens is a loosely-knit collective of established Austin singer/songwriters, featuring Brian Keane (I Ain’t Even Lonely), Gordy Quist (Songs Play Me), Colin Brooks (Blood and Water), Ed Jurdi (Longshores Drive), and the rhythm section of Seth Whitney and Eldridge Goins. The band began their weekly Momo’s encounters in 2005 under the name Good Times Supper Club. After a misprint in a local newspaper advertisement billed them as “The Heathens”, the characterization stuck.

The show starts at 9:30 p.m.. Momo’s is located at 618 West 6th Street, right above Katz’s Deli.

I want a Girl That Stays on Your Lips For Hours
I want a Girl That Leaves When You Leave Town
I want a Girl With A Mouth Just Like Gasoline
Who Could Burn Your Whole World To The Ground

Well we're in the full swing of 2006, years are rolling by like days at this point. I was talking to my good friends Jon and Tim about this a few weeks ago when they were in town. "Do you remember that last year?" "Oh man was that last year already?"

Anyways, I digress.

I have been doing a lot of writing for a new record, I hope to share some of it with you all very soon. There's some rock, there's some pop, some country and a lot of soul. At the end of the day, it's gotta have soul no matter what it is.

I'll keep mining the gold that comes from writing these songs and singing em as long as you all can keep listening.

It's usually November In New England, but this year we've got some Texas style autumn coming down. I must say it's been mighty fine thus far. Not quite the autumnal spectrum of color, but the weather has been just stellar. Since I'm in a rambling mood, I'll jump topics. One and all should check out Jon Nicholson His new album A Lil Sumpin Sumpin is pure music for the soul. Damn I love the first track "Just a Man" and "Seven Days" Is a barn burning soul infused Staples Singers type joint. Dig it!
I hope things are well in your portion of the universe and things are falling down nicely for you. EJ

All the people they just stare
In Disbelief as if I'm not even there
I don't care, I can't see them
They've fallen off like the leaves
In November, In New England
When the snow begins to fall
